The workhorse
Satoshi.
Satoshi carries display, body, and labels through --font-sans. It is loaded locally with a metric-adjusted fallback to keep the handoff stable.
Futura is the companion, not a substitute. --font-accent appears only through the three accent-* classes at weight 500.

The instrument
One sentence. Sixteen settings.
The scale is closed: seven display, five body, one label, and three accent classes. Select a token to inspect the real face, weight, and responsive metrics; do not invent a seventeenth.

Emphasis.
One word carries the tension. In the source headline, outpacing is set apart because it names the gap the sentence is built around. Move the emphasis and the meaning changes with it.
The italic sits on the word carrying the tension. This is the source-faithful setting.
Device 02
The eyebrow.
label-sm text-accent labels the section before its heading. Write the source in sentence case; the class supplies uppercase, tracking, and weight.
Orange identifies the label. It does not turn explanatory copy into an eyebrow, and it never becomes the field.

A statement settles with a full stop. It gives the line finality without turning punctuation into decoration. Genuine questions keep their question mark; deliberate fragments can still be direct.

The machine register
Monospace.
Numbers, tokens, timings, versions, and metadata use the system monospace stack. Prose does not.
A dedicated mono webfont is not shipped. Adding a download for a handful of machine labels remains an extension, not a recommendation.
